Coming in Fall 2017...

We have a lot of fun and educational activities planned for Fall 2017. Here's an overview of all the tentative events we are working on:

Our mission

Our purpose is to increase the recruitment and retention of women in computing at the University of Cincinnati. The number of women in computer science and other fields of computing is falling and we will strive to educate women throughout the pipeline, girls in K-12, undergraduate and graduate students on the benefits of a computing. The organization will aim to align with the university’s diversity campaign and will serve as an outreach organization for current women and also, men in the field of computing.

National average of women in computing = 15%
Women in computing at UC = 8.9%(2% increase from last year!)

An ACM-W chapter at UC offers students activities, projects and access to events that aim to improve the working and learning environment for women in computing. This will help us meet the national average and build a community of women in computing at UC!

National ACM Committee

ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) is a professional, scientific society for Computer Science. It is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.

ACM-W (the ACM Committee on Women) supports, celebrates, and advocates internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women.
We would love to receive feedback on the events planned. Email us at with suggestions, comments or concerns!
